We were challenged to design a new secondary school that would provide students with outstanding education on a prominent but restricted site. The size of the site demanded an innovative multi-storey solution.
We have created a beacon for education that makes a bold impact on the streetscape but responds to urban design analysis and neighbouring properties. The form and massing are driven by balancing the educational requirements with the small footprint and numerous other hidden constraints including a buried Culvert.
Specialising in Health and Wellbeing Sciences- facilities range from specialist laboratories to collaborative teaching spaces and rooftop classrooms.
When complete, the building is likely to be the tallest school of its kind in the UK. An analytical and flexible approach to curriculum delivery has been a critical component of our design process with rigorous testing of the timetabling and people movement flow analysis.
