The Island
To develop designs for an innovative new education hub in Limassol district, Cyprus. Designed in collaboration with executive architects Panos Panayiotou + Associates, the 21,000sq m scheme will be integrated into the hillside context of the site to provide a nature-led learning environment for over 2,000 students.
Designs seek to accommodate a full-day learning environment for students from diverse cultural backgrounds, studying for a range of education programmes - as well as delivering residential accommodation for 200 boarding pupils and sports facilities to benefit the school and the wider community.
The plans include 30m level change with easily navigable, step-free routes throughout and a ‘village square’ at the heart of the masterplan. Bio-diverse roofs are included, and natural materials are incorporated to insulate and shade buildings, ground the school and create a sense of place.
