Whitelands Park, Putney
The redevelopment of this 5.4 hectare (13.5 acre) urban site on the former Roehampton University main campus provides 132 luxury apartments through the renovation and conversion of existing buildings, including the 1930's Grade II Listed Main College Building and Gate Lodge, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott and the listed Italianate Forest Lodge Villa. New build accommodation offers a further 119 apartments, 50 townhouses, 18 semi-detached villas together with a concierge gatehouse. Key worker dwellings have also been provided through the conversion of the student accommodation. Extensive consultations with stakeholders including English Heritage and Sport England were vital to obtaining planning approval; the scheme effectively illustrates the combined success and expertise of the architecture, planning and hertiage teams within the practice. A very successful design led project, it is well regarded by many residential developers across South East England.
