32 Chancery Lane, City of London
Viridis Real Estate Services
This £37m project is an office development in the City of London, which includes new and retained elements. The practice is providing architectural service from RIBA Stages C-L, including interior design and compliance monitoring. The design approach aims to balance the requirements of an efficient contemporary office environment with the enhancement of the urban qualities of the Chancery Lane Conservation area. The design acknowledges both the historic and flamboyant context of Chancery Lane, and the more modest qualities of Breams Buildings. The aim is to make a coherent and legible whole of the entire perimeter, and to develop a synergy between the existing and the new elevations. The new facade blends into the retained facade via a transitional bay, which serves as a visual punctuation between the 'old' and 'new'.
