Scott Brownrigg to host one and eight exhibition
Scott Brownrigg is to host one and eight, an exhibition celebrating the work of The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust, and those young people who have benefited from the bursaries and support that the Trust provides. Held in Scott Brownrigg’s Covent Garden office, the exhibition is one in a series of events being held in conjunction with the Trust’s 1818 campaign.
Nine architectural students and professionals from schools and higher education institutions from across the country will showcase their work. Representing the ongoing achievements and successes of the Trust in establishing tomorrow’s generation of designers, these students are the role modes for others who aspire to careers in the built environment.
Since its inception in 1998, The Stephen Lawrence Trust has supported over 100 young people in becoming architects, interior designers, landscape designers and environmental engineers; it is now looking to widen the scope of its programmes during 2012. Key to the Trust realising its ambition is the establishment of the 18:18 enablement fund, this will continue to allow bursaries and grants to be provided to young people.
The design of the temporary installation at Scott Brownrigg’s office is being co-ordinated by me&sam, an emerging London based architectural practice; with the venue providing a fitting match to the work on display, encapsulating the practices ethos of design excellence and social responsibility.
