Scott Brownrigg Planning secures permission for major new distribution centre warehouse at Hatfield Business Park
Scott Brownrigg Planning has secured planning permission for a major new 21,886 sq m warehouse distribution centre at Hatfield Business Park on behalf of Goodman.
The 7.15ha site is one of the few remaining development plots within the business park. Once completed logistics provider PCL will take occupation of the building on behalf of Arla foods, bringing over 600 jobs to the Park.
Arla, is one of the UK’s leading dairy companies responsible for many household names including Anchor Butter, Lurpak and Cravendale. Together with the site’s operator PCL it selected Hatfield Business Park as its preferred location for a regional distribution centre to the south-east of England.
Scott Brownrigg Planning managed the preparation of the planning application for the new facility and assisted with the public exhibition before the final scheme was submitted.
The scheme was carefully designed having regard to its context, to create an appropriately sited development, and in terms of materials, to make a positive contribution to its surroundings, with contemporary design which functions well and is safe to use for everyone. It incorporates special landscaping zones, in particular landscaped bunds, to more sensitive aspects of the site.
