Scott Brownrigg has completed an elegant 30,000 sq ft refurbishment for leading international law firm Baker & McKenzie LLP, located on the 6th floor of 100 New Bridge Street, London.

The £600,000 refurbishment of the client reception, conference and seminar facilities reflects Baker & McKenzie’s global corporate branding, yet maintains a strong sense of individuality, featuring high quality finishes and furniture throughout.

The scheme was visually transformed using relatively light touches, applied to each area. This allowed for a significant proportion of the budget to be spent on the high quality detail, joinery and furniture, which has been used throughout.

The sophisticated meeting rooms’ double up as fine dining areas using comfortable chairs from Interstuhl, coupled with elegant walnut tables from Howe. Tailor designed, high quality fixed credenzas, which use Strata stone and white lacquer, and a feature Kvadrat upholstered back wall complete the elegant look.

The modern reception area features a new illuminated desk produced from Corian, stone and leather;  an elegant coffee bar and drinks counter has finishes to match the credenzas in the fine dining areas; the striking ceiling and feature walls use linear strip lighting and narrow irregular brick bond upholstered panels to create a sense of movement and regularity, whilst reflecting the Baker & McKenzie brand.  The area flows seamlessly into the conference and seminar rooms with the use of organic tones, simple, elegant textures and classic modern furniture and detailing.

Many elements of the original fit out were re-used using French polish and decoration to maximum effect.  These include the cherry doors which have been stripped and re-decorated to match the walnut table tops

The refurbishment was carried out over a short and ambitious rolling phase program, whilst the client remained in full occupation and successfully operating on a daily basis.

Clare Jordan, Head of Events at Baker & McKenzie commented:
"Scott Brownrigg really took the time to listen to our needs, understand our firm's culture and brand, and incorporate that into their ideas. Throughout the project, they listened to our feedback and always kept in mind the culture of Baker & McKenzie - making the end result a true reflection of our firm. We are really pleased with how our Reception area turned out, and so far the feedback we've had from our clients has been universally positive."
