Planning Permission Secured for BSF

Scott Brownrigg has recently secured planning permission for four schools as part of the London Borough of Newham’s Building Schools for the Future programme.

We were instructed at a very late stage to progress planning submissions for the complete redevelopment of two schools (Lister Community School and Rokeby School), the major extension and refurbishment of a third (Sarah Bonnell School) and refurbishment and alterations to a fourth (Brampton Manor School).  Scott Brownrigg are also the architects for Sarah Bonnell and Rokeby School.

Our involvement ensured the applications included sufficient accompanying documents, were submitted on time, that responses were provided to consultation queries and most importantly that the applications were reported to the targeted planning committee dates where they were unanimously supported.  This means our client Laing O’Rourke is on track to meet their contractual obligations, in terms of planning, and in a good position to commencement construction on target.

The process has been a challenging one given the particularly tight timeframe within which we have had to work, the on-going design development and the extensive liaising and consultation with various parties including consultants, advisory design groups and the Local Authority.
