Scott Brownrigg has appointed Philip Scott as Head of Planning for its Planning Division.

Working closely with Planning Director, John Watson, Philip will particularly focus on identifying and developing new UK business opportunities as well as supporting the practice’s wider growth initiatives.

Philip has over 24 years of planning experience. He joins the practice from CBRE, where he was Director and Head of Planning for the Regions; his clients included BAE Systems, St Modwen Developments, Pirelli UK, Argent Estates, Lloyds Banking Group and BskyB. Prior to this he was Director at BNP Paribas and Principal Planner at Broadway Malyan.

Since 2001 Philip has been involved in advising private sector clients on a variety of commercial, industrial, mixed-use, energy, port-related, and residential development projects as well as advising clients in relation to S106 legal agreements, CPOs, and Judicial Reviews.

He is experienced at leading advice on planning strategies and development frameworks, as well as on the preparation of development briefs, and submitting and negotiating major planning applications. He has particular experience of managing large project teams both at the initial strategy and formulation stage, and through both Development Plan and Public Inquiries.

The strategic appointment reinforces the team’s commitment to providing its clients with an exceptional service and reflects wider changes within the Planning team, which this year celebrates its 30th Anniversary.
