Oldfield Primary School achieves planning consent
Scott Brownrigg’s Planning Team achieved planning consent in January for the ADP Architecture designed Oldfield Primary School in Maidenhead.
Following an original deferral in September 2013, The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) Planning Committee unanimously approved Planning Permission for the development of a new 420 pupil primary school on Bray Road, Maidenhead.
Scott Brownrigg Planning, appointed as planning consultants by the Leadbitter Group, worked in partnership with RBWM to bring forward a site, within the Green Belt, adjacent to a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Wildlife Heritage Site, as well as being within Flood Zone 3a. The application was supported by a full Environmental Impact Assessment, co-ordinated and compiled by Scott Brownrigg Planning.
Following the planning committee in December, and due to the development falling within the Green Belt, the application was referred to the Secretary of State who confirmed he did not wish to call in the application in January 2014. Work is now expected to start on site in the Spring.
The new development will enable the existing Oldfield Primary School to relocate from its current restricted site, and provide much needed extra places, securing an outstanding quality of education for years to come.
