Chilton Trinity School Community Swimming Pool Completes

18.02.13

The Scott Brownrigg designed, community swimming pool at Chilton Trinity School in Bridgewater has been handed over.

Incorporating a 25 metre, six lane pool and a training pool, spectator seating as well as a fitness suite and café, the leisure facility is available for both community and school use.

The layout and organisation of all elements ensures independent use by both the community and the school itself. A fully glazed south facing elevation together with a high level roof light to the pool hall creates a bright and attractive environment.  Exposed Glulam beams and timber seating create contrast and add warmth to the pale walls and floors. Externally, the dark grey curtain walling and brise soleil reflect the main school building design.

The swimming pool is the final component of the new 1,050 pupil Chilton Trinity School, which opened in November 2012.  Designed by Scott Brownrigg and constructed by BAM, the school also includes a four court sports hall, gymnasium, fitness studio, grass pitches and a multi-use games area.
